Captain Plumb’s military career is marked by extraordinary bravery and endurance. During the Vietnam War, on his 75th combat mission, his F-4 Phantom jet was shot down over enemy territory. He was captured and imprisoned in a small, 8-by-8-foot cell, where he endured six years of torture and isolation as a prisoner of war.

Throughout this harrowing ordeal, Captain Plumb faced unimaginable challenges but emerged with a deep understanding of the human spirit, the power of perseverance and the importance of leadership in the face of adversity.
